“It’s the humidity for me.”
New York City used to be considered a humid continental climate. It is now deemed a humid subtropical climate zone. This means that summers average above 72 degrees Fahrenheit and in the winter, above 27 degrees Fahrenheit, on average.
This has massive implications.
The climate crisis has never been more visible or threatening as it is now.
But the good news? We're already making change. Join us to learn how.
NY Subtropical is a monthly event intended to bring together anyone who cares about the climate crises in our city enough to do something about it. Part meeting place, part learning summit, NY Subtropical shares the changes that are being across New York on a legislation level, as well as the ways to get involved no matter who you are or what you do.
Creatives, business folk, parents, artists, activists, entrepreneurs and futurists all converge to share triumphs, challenges and to hear more about how we can use our voices, vocations and votes to make New York a more liveable city for everyone.
Hosted by Climate Reality, we mobilize by connecting community members through events, empowering and supporting their leadership to create change, and facilitating robust on the ground action.
